From Climate Anxiety to Creative Action: Empowering Our Youngest Changemakers
In recent weeks, I’ve witnessed the incredible potential of our youth to transform concern into creativity. The Planet Protectors Summer Camp, led by our inspiring 16-year-old Dream Tank Fellow, Kalyahn Varanasi, is a testament to this transformation.
Designed for children aged 6–9, this camp offers a space for young minds to channel their feelings about climate change into tangible solutions. Through storytelling, prototyping, and mentorship, we’re not just educating—we’re empowering.
However, organizing such an initiative hasn’t been without challenges. Navigating unexpected logistical hurdles reminded me of the resilience required to bring visionary projects to life.
These experiences reinforce my belief in the importance of creating platforms where youth can lead, innovate, and inspire. If you’re interested in supporting or learning more about our initiatives, I invite you to visit Dream Tank.
And, if you’d like to support youth-led innovation, please consider becoming a sponsor, mentor, or applying to be a NextGEN Innovation Fellow!
Together, let’s continue to nurture the changemakers of tomorrow.
